Syndacast SUPERHERO Christmas Party 2015!

By | Dec 25th, 2015 01.24 AM | View all posts in Blog Event News and Updates

What a great way to end 2015 by celebrating Syndacast’s ultra awesome costume-themed superheroes party! To end the year, we voted to end the year with something… quirky. Long story short, the votes were cast and superheroes won the vote by a landslide! …Naturally.

Our event was held yesterday at the Four Points by Sheraton where superheroes gathered from dawn to dusk (and spending a day not fighting crime). At the party, there were many caped crusaders, one Godzilla (is Godzilla a superhero?), one unrecognizable Katniss Everdeen (or Catnip Evergreen), two Iron Mans (would that make it Iron Men?), a handful of Super Women and more!

To like or to “dislike”, that is the question

Yes, we are talking about Facebook’s new dislike button, which turned out to not literally mean the thumbs-down icon. Mark Zuckerberg and his team launched Facebook in February, 2004. Five years later, the Like button was added and the world went crazy with ‘likes’. Why is the number of likes so important? In terms of psychology, likes essentially reflect a positive attitude towards oneself and one’s brand. It acts as a soft measurement of how many people like you and your brand. At times, it’s also a reflection of authentic feedback regarding certain topic or products (I am talking about organic likes FYI). Have you ever come across a page with low number of likes and then decide against liking the page and the posts yourself? If you compare two Facebook pages, the audience tend to end up following a page that has more likes.

Be In Twitter to Be In Google

By | May 22nd, 2015 04.11 AM | View all posts in Blog News and Updates

It’s official. The recent Google-Twitter partnership is sealed and it means Google has now regained access to Twitter’s Firehose; Twitter’s stream of tweets. Firing at 9,000 tweets per second, Firehose is about global real-time data.

For search marketers, we’ve seen the recent launch of the ‘In the News’ box that now appears in Google’s first page search. With the recent Google-Twitter partnership, it is quite clear in which direction Google is going: real-time, up-to-date data.

Google In the News BoxMoreover, Google now has direct access to that data without having to crawl and index each tweet, significantly cutting down on the lead time before a new tweet starts to show in search.

For digital marketers, the partnership has just further emphasized the growing importance of social media marketing. Perhaps with this partnership, having more and regular content on Twitter might mean better ranking and visibility?

Truth be told, this is not the first partnership between the two giants. The first one sizzled back in 2011. So why attempt another partnership? The difference really is that this time, the playing field has altered. Facebook has surpassed Twitter by far, while Google’s ultimate goal is to speed up search (The Ten Things We Know to Be True). It really is a win-win situation that may have considerable impact.
