2013 has been quite a ride for online marketers. The highly volatile search landscape last year brought with it: new opportunities to test out new digital marketing strategies and was a great learning experience.

Thumbsup, a well-known tech professional community in Thailand hosted its 3rd anniversary, the Spark Conference themed: 2013 Year in Review & What’s next in 2014.

It was a privilege for Syndacast to be one of the conference’s sponsor alongside DTAC, TRUE Incube and other tech companies. The conference which took place at Scala Theater, just a block away from the political rallies that is going on in Bangkok, gained a surprisingly large number of participants, up to an estimate of 700+ number of audiences. This is a statement in itself of the growing interest and importance of digital marketing in Thailand and the region.

The conference successfully provided a big-picture perspective on all events that happened on the digital marketing front in 2013 and what we could expect for 2014 as well as creative and innovative strategies for 2014.

Is Only Adwords Enough for SEM in 2014?

By | Jan 15th, 2014 04.19 AM | View all posts in Tips & Tricks

Google is indisputably the most widely used search engine for many years now. This trend will continue well into 2014 and beyond. It is also the reason why many SEM efforts and investments fall squarely on Adwords. When Google was first officially launched in 1998, the average number of search queries per day was 9,800. Last year, we saw an exponential growth of daily search queries made on Google to a whopping 5,922,000,000.

Although, Google is still number one, you might want to start gaining more insight into Bing’s network. Why? In 2013, around 30% of search queries were made via Bing network. Sure it doesn’t sound like a lot but consider this: [1] Microsoft in putting in considerable efforts to merge internet search with their Windows platform. [2] 90% of computers run on Windows OS.

Bing’s Ad network is a formidable player and something search marketers may want to keep an eye on; even more so if we consider how fast the search landscape changes every year.

By | Jan 2nd, 2014 10.50 AM | View all posts in Infographic

The year of 2014 is upon us and as a result, big changes are expected this year. In the field of digital marketing, a lot of predictions have been floating around since 2013 about the big things that will emerge in 2014. Without a doubt, many predictions are said to come true.

Here’s our Digital Marketing Trends 2014 infographic breaking it down for you:

Digital Marketing Trends 2014

Following up on rumors and speculations (plus our predictions), we’ve combined our research into this infographic, breaking down into four sections:

  • Content Marketing – Content marketing has been around since 1895 and is still in practice today. Content marketing is not a new concept but it will continue to grow and be optimized. Many businesses are looking into content marketing to expand their brand’s services and credibility. In result, they often reach their target audience (via social media) and fulfill expected KPI (Key Performance Indicators) goals.
  • Advertising – Like content marketing, this concept is not new. However, it’s the type of advertising that is expected to be prominent in 2014. With the implementation of DMP or Data Management Platforms, advertisers can now target specific audience groups and individuals to ensure their ads will show only to them.
  • Big Data – The era of Big Data is upon us. Big data, as the name implies is the collection and storage of large collections of data which cannot be processed manually or one program. It’s impacts are still yet unknown.
  • Mobile Marketing – Interestingly, mobile marketing is slowly emerging and establishing itself to become one of the more dominant forms of marketing. More people are using their portable devices to conduct business on the go. To top it off, many websites are opting for for a mobile compatible design, according to Google’s Responsive Web Design. The more responsive web design a website has, the more probability people will return to your website and continue doing business with you.
